Literaturmuseum Altaussee

Discover literary history in the heart of Altaussee The Literaturmuseum has been located directly in the center of Altaussee for over 20 years, and is a fixed point on the agenda for friends of literary history when visiting the Ausseerland. The newly designed spa park invites you to linger before or after your visit: The idyllic surroundings in front of the Literaturmuseum invite you to browse through one or two books from the bookshop. The museum's collection tells the local history of Altaussee and houses some special exhibits, such as a unique media addition to Prof. Horst K. Jandl's cabinet of curiosities. For the Capital of Culture 2024, the Literaturmuseum was re-staged. Prominent literary figures who have worked and are working in Altaussee are presented. Originals such as Herzl's bicycle and Torberg's voice are perfectly showcased. A new highlight & MUST SEE in Altaussee! All display boards are now also available in English! The volunteer staff of the Literaturmuseum Altaussee look forward to your visit!
