The Lavanttal Fruit Growing Museum in St. Paul documents the development of fruit growing in the region – from the 18th to the 20th century. The Fruit Growing Museum is housed at the Zogglhof in St. Paul in Lavanttal. Children and parents have the opportunity here to discover the changes and developments in fruit growing – especially from the 18th to the 20th century. Families get a comprehensive insight into the rural working world in the Fruit Tree Museum, concerning both the past, as well as the present and future. The big and small visitors learn, among other things, that fruit cultivation in Lavanttal already has a long tradition here due to its climatic location. Already in Roman times, various fruit varieties were cultivated in this region. An old beehive shows visitors what an important task insects have in fruit growing. The Bauernstube (farmer's parlor) with the Herrgottswinkel (God's corner) also plays a central role in the Fruit Tree Museum. The Zogglhof – also a center and sales point for "Mostbarkeiten" – convinces with the successful adaptation of the historic building to the present.Commented tasting:A selection of Mostbarkeiten - distillates, musts and juices - will be tasted.
