At the Obertilliach Biathlon Centre it quickly becomes clear: this place is characterised by absolutely professional infrastructure and is a true paradise for cross-country skiers, regularly used by Olympic champions and world champions. For example, biathlon legend Ole Einar Bjørndalen from Norway moved his residence to Obertilliach during his active career due to the excellent training opportunities. Many teams use the excellent conditions in summer and autumn on the roller ski track and in early winter on the first snow for the competitions in winter. The Biathlon Youth and Junior World Championships have already taken place twice, accompanied by annual IBU Cups, and the international Dolomitenlauf is also held in Obertilliach.
