The client for the construction of Landschloss Ort was Adam Graf von Herberstorff. Landschloss Ort owes its current appearance to the renovations by Archduke Johann Nepomuk Salvator. He had the left-hand building wall in the inner courtyard of the Landschloss adorned with the coats of arms of the former owners of the Ort dominion. In the castle courtyard stands an artfully decorated, wrought-iron fountain, and extensive redesigns were also carried out inside the building. In 1918, the estate changed ownership to the Bundesforste (Federal Forests). From 1919 to 1969, the Landschloss housed the state forestry school ("Bundesförsterschule"). Until recently, it was a forestry training center. Currently, the castle is vacant. During Advent, the estate is used for the Schlösser-Advent. More information can be found at Gmundens Schätze!
