Landesmuseum Burgenland

The Landesmuseum is currently closed due to extensive renovation work. The historic building, which is a protected monument, and also the administrative wing are being renovated. Even though the Landesmuseum is closed, museum events are being held at other locations. The Landesmuseum is a universal museum that showcases over 10,000 years of human history in this region. It forms the cultural and historical memory of Burgenland. The permanent exhibitions "Burgenland: Land in Motion - Land of Encounter"; "Tradition and Customs"; "Archaeology in Burgenland" and "Biology and Paleontology" display numerous treasures of Burgenland's history, culture, and identity. Annually changing special exhibitions address a wide variety of topics and are presented competently, modernly, and family-friendly.
