The artist Paul Pracher († 2016) created a bronze sculpture of Saint Nepomuk – the patron saint against floods – for the gate. The Styrian artist Markus Wilfling, known for his shadow object of the Graz clock tower, planted the word "gedächtnis" (memory) on the dam. It stands for what has happened, past floods and devastating inundations. With it, he evokes old images against forgetting in the mind's eye. Gedächtnis also stands for the memory of water, the information carrier and storage over millennia.
