Kulturkino Gmünd has been an integral part of the program of Künstlerstadt Gmünd since 2012. In cooperation with EU XXL Die Reihe, the Künstler:innenstadt Gmünd private foundation presents a carefully curated selection of current, artistically valuable, and multi-award-winning films. With the opening of the new KUNSTHAUS GMÜND, Kulturkino also moved to a new venue and has since been anchored in its auditorium. As one of only two program cinemas in Upper Carinthia, Kulturkino Gmünd shows films in two seasonal blocks – from late March to mid-May and from early September to mid-December. Long-standing partnerships exist with renowned festivals such as VIENNALE and DIAGONALE, the Festival of Austrian Film. In addition, the cinema is regularly used for special events such as presentations and matinees as part of current exhibitions, thus expanding the cultural offerings of Künstlerstadt with a cinematic dimension.
