Kulturhaus

THE OLD GENERAL STOREIn the old general store, honey products, silk candies, handmade soaps, spiced oil, and various essences are offered for sale. This is intended to contribute to the preservation of the Kulturhaus. THE TRADITION ROOMThe Tradition Room shows life around 1900, primarily from a woman's perspective. Many objects related to the crafts once practiced in the current Kulturhaus – those of the linen weaver, the general store owner and grocer, and the master tailor – are presented. GEOLOGICAL CABINETThe Geological Cabinet attempts to present the diversity of rocks and minerals of the Sauwald. Another focus is the fossil inventory of the former seashore on the southern edge of the Sauwald, which is exposed in sand pits such as Mitterndorf. PARK FOR ART & CULTUREIn addition to a herb garden and other botanical specialties, the Park for Art and Culture presents artworks made of wood as well as culturally and historically interesting exhibits of old craftsmanship. The park is freely accessible at all times (except in snow and ice).
