Mechanical Nativity Scene in the Christkindl Rectory In the mechanical nativity scene by Karl Klauda (1855 - 1939), almost 300 figures carved from linden wood move through a detailed biblical landscape thanks to unique mechanics. Pöttmesser Nativity Scene in the Christkindl Rectory With 58 square meters and over 700 magnificently carved and clothed figures by the South Tyrolean Ferdinand Pöttmesser (1895 – 1977), the Pöttmesser Nativity Scene is one of the largest nativity scenes in the world. The landscape mountain was lovingly designed afterwards by Josef Seidl from Steyr. Tip! Plan at least 1 hour for your visit to Christkindl (church/nativity scenes/post office) during the pre-Christmas season! Also take advantage of the quieter time between Christmas and January 6th!
