Krippe "Rabenwies" im Viechtauer Heimathaus

The nativity scenes exhibited in the local history museum are lovingly cared for by Mr. Curator Johann Gaigg and bear witness to the life of the Viechtauers. Just a small corner in the Herrgottswinkel (God's corner) was enough for these people to experience the magic of Christmas with even greater intimacy. No great splendor and glory, a bit of silver tinsel from broken baubles and "Bärentatzenstanken" served as decoration. Since not everyone could afford a hand-carved nativity scene, so-called "Loammandl-Krippen" (clay figure nativity scenes) were also built or figures were turned.
