Arrive & find peace In the freely accessible herb and rose garden - in the middle of the herb village of Söchau - around 120 different medicinal herbs thrive. Due to the different growth and flowering times of the various plants, it is possible to visit and smell the herb garden throughout the entire summer half-year. In special guided tours, you can learn more about the healing effects and magical powers of the plants. Another attraction is the connected Kneipp path, which consists of a water-treading basin and a water trough. Especially on hot summer days, you can find perfect refreshment here. It's also perfect for relaxing in front of the small, fine herb chapel, which was consecrated to Saint Hildegard von Bingen. The witch garden mainly contains poisonous herbs (e.g., deadly nightshade, mandrakes, monkshood...), which, when consumed in higher doses, unfold their deadly effect. Accordingly, this area can only be visited as part of a guided tour.
