The hammer mill on the Weizbach was first mentioned in the 14th century. Since 1712, with the marriage of Josef Mosdorfer and the widow Lehr, the Klingenschmiede has been known under the name Mosdorfer. At that time, swords, sabers, and sickles were produced in what is now the museum. It was not until 1991 that the Klingenschmiede became the company museum of the family-run high-tech company of the KNILL Group. Touching and trying out is encouraged! At the Klingenschmiede, touching is allowed and even expressly encouraged. Numerous prepared models provide a surprisingly modern and lively insight into traditional blacksmithing. From the origin of the materials to blade production, the individual processes are explained in detail and vividly presented at various stations.
