The Klimaschutzgarten (Climate Protection Garden) in Gosdorf near Mureck is an 18,000 m² area dedicated to climate protection and sustainability. It is designed and maintained under expert guidance as part of the non-profit employment project of the same name by Jugend am Werk Steiermark. The garden serves as a living textbook where visitors can experience practical examples of sustainable gardening, biodiversity, and resource conservation. The Klimaschutzgarten is divided into diverse thematic areas: colorful perennial gardens, a rosarium, medicinal, spice, and kitchen herb gardens. Furthermore, there is a shade garden, a parcel garden, a clay-wet biotope, the Osterluzei field, various cultivation beds, the grass garden, and the rock garden. These areas offer unique insights. Products such as native young plants are offered for sale. The Klimaschutzgarten is open 24/7 and accessible to interested parties. It is both a place of recreation and a center for education and awareness-raising regarding climate protection.
