Best time of day/year: South-facing, very sunny in the middle and right wall sections (suitable for winter), deciduous trees in the left wall section (climbing possible all year round). In December, sun until approximately 15:00.Rock quality: Compact, rough limestone, crimp climbing.Atmosphere: Quietly located, impressive wall, athletic grading, mostly comfortable entry area.Approach: As for the Nußwand, continue on the hiking trail for about 100 meters until the end of the forest. Now, immediately before a dilapidated high stand, turn right downwards until you reach the junction with a path coming from the right. Continue downwards, keeping left, turn right downwards again before the left boundary rocks of the Pfennigsteinmauer, and finally turn left under the wall.Or, from the Kanzel, at the left bend of the hiking trail (see access to Nußwand), turn right onto an inconspicuous path. This path merges as a trail into the path from the high stand.Walking time from Hackerbauer: 15 to 20 minutes.Distance: From Losenstein approx. 2.3 km | approx. 5 minutes driving time.Important notes: A large part of the routes are significantly over 30 m, some even over 35 m long. Exercise particular caution when lowering! Absolutely use a 70 m, or even better, an 80 m long rope and ensure that the rope end is correctly tied off!Arrival by car:From Salzburg/Linz: A1 motorway exit Enns-Steyr > B115 into the Ennstal.From Vienna: A1 motorway exit Haag > B42 > B122 > B115 into the Ennstal.From Passau: A8 Passau > Wels > A1 to motorway exit Enns-Steyr > B115 into the Ennstal.From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > motorway exit Klaus > Grünburg > into the Ennstal.From Losenstein towards Großraming until the cemetery at the edge of the village. Turn left before the cemetery and at the immediately following fork, turn right. In 2 km you will reach the parking lot (on the left side) at the junction of the access road to the Hackerbauer. PLEASE only park in the designated parking spaces! A tractor with a trailer must always be able to pass!
