Rock QualitySeasoned with ledges, slabs, cracks and dihedrals, spiced with some overhangs in predominantly solid limestone, the climbing on the Weißensteinerwand is very attractive and varied. AmbienceThe SW-facing orientation and the location in a light deciduous mixed forest with pleasant access terrain make a very friendly impression. However, due to the high frequency of visitors to the neighboring via ferratas, the wall is not suitable for those who love solitude. ChildrenNice forest playground at the base of the wall. The forest path is within shouting and sight distance and within baby-stroller distance. Important NotesAbove the right part of the wall are the beautifully laid out via ferratas of the Beisteinmauer. Although the via ferrata leads through compact rock, rockfall from via ferrata climbers can occur again and again. Therefore, a helmet is strongly recommended here. The Mitterhumer family, owners of the parking lot and parts of the Beistein, look forward to a stop at the Mostheuriger (cider tavern) directly at the parking lot. Arrival/Parking From Ternberg across the Enns and into the Trattenbachtal. Follow this upstream and take the first turn left towards GH Klausriegler (signposted Kletterzentrum). Approximately 900m after the turn-off, turn left onto the large, paid parking lot directly below the wall. Approx. 4.9 km, from Ternberg / 7 minutes driving time Free parking at Trattenbach train station - walking time approx. 15 minutes on foot ApproachFollow the parking lot to the back, past the turn-off to the via ferratas, to the barrier of the forest road. From here, diagonally right upwards in 1 – 3 minutes to the entrances of the clearly visible wall.
