Kleindenkmal Wagner Kapelle

Along the popular hiking trail from the Tissenbachtal to the well-known Scharnstein Castle Ruin lies the so-called "Wagner Chapel" – a small monument that was erected about 140 years ago due to a legend. Unfortunately, this privately owned small monument is hardly maintained anymore – it is more or less left to decay. The "Almtaler Bergwiesn Verein" has therefore set itself the goal of tackling the preservation of this cultural asset with the consent of the private owners. The aim of the project is to preserve the historically significant small monument; to provide information about the miraculous history of the "Wagner Chapel"; to highlight the special features of the location and to maintain it so that it remains safely accessible.This family-friendly excursion can be wonderfully combined with a visit to the Geyerhammer Museum and a visit to the Scharnstein Ruin.You can ideally travel by Almtalbahn (Wels-Grünau) to Scharnstein-Mühldorf station. A newly built wooden bridge leads to the correct bank of the Alm river.
