From Trautenfels Castle, a short walk further in the direction of Grimminghütte is the Neuhaus church ruin: a contemporary witness to underground Protestantism, which persisted here for one and a half centuries after the strong Counter-Reformation around 1600. Even today, the highest density of evangelical Christians in Styria can be found in the Ennstal.
