Zell am See, Salzburg
Once, a small chapel was located quietly along the valley road in Thumersbach: today, its expansion - the Church of St. Sigismund - impresses visitors to Zell am See and attracts with its over 300-year history. The church was built in 1685, expanded in the 1950s, and fitted with a new tower. Since 1995, the building has shone in new splendor after a comprehensive renovation of the roof and masonry. The interior also shows signs of renewal and, most notably, sound: since 2008, the sound of a new organ has filled the reverent spaces during church services.
