Kirche St. Rupert

A special attraction in Weißpriach is the early Romanesque Kirche St. Rupert, which is located in the eponymous district. The former castle chapel is over 1,000 years old and thus one of the oldest churches in the state of Salzburg. Particularly worth seeing are the Byzantine frescoes inside the church from the 11th and 12th centuries. The old sacristan's house next to the church was also formerly located within the castle walls, of which remains can still be seen today.
