Kirche "Maria Himmelfahrt" zu Lieseregg

The church was built in 975 by the Diocese of Freising (Bavaria). Around 1000, it came under the rule of the Counts of Lurn and finally, in 1149, was bequeathed to the Archdiocese of Salzburg. In 1516, it fell under the suzerainty of the St. Georgis Knights in Millstatt and, after their dissolution in 1598, to the Jesuits. In 1775, Lieseregg was incorporated into the Diocese of Gurk with the Millstatt district, and ten daughter churches were assigned to it.
