Elmen, Tyrol
Parish Church of the Holy Magi The nave and choir of the Baroque building fit together – without external plastic articulation – under a common gabled roof. On the north side, at the transition from the nave to the choir, stands the bell tower from the 15th century, on which a pointed gable helmet was placed in 1903. The small portal vestibule adjoins the west facade, also under a gabled roof. Above it are two round windows, above which another circular window is built into the gable. The walled cemetery surrounds the church on three sides, which opens towards the street. The nave with its four bays under a barrel vault with lunettes is followed by a recessed choir arch and the also recessed single-bay choir with a 3/8-closure. The high floor level of the wide choir room is – unique in all of Tyrol – accessible from the nave via five steps. The deep west gallery extends over two bays.
