Kelchalm - Rodelbahn

The snow crunches underfoot, your breath is clearly visible in the cold winter air. And it gets noticeably faster, your breath, because it's quite strenuous to walk to the Kelchalm. It's almost 4 km uphill and over numerous bends and turns, taking about 1.5 hours to complete. But the first reward follows immediately after arriving at the Kelchalm, in the Bochumer Hütte. By the warming tiled stove, we really enjoy ourselves with a hot mulled wine and something hearty to eat. Well-fortified and warmed up, we then get the second reward for the somewhat strenuous but very beautiful ascent: the rapid descent by toboggan. And it's really great to whiz down the mountain in this ancient way, on just 2 runners, with your bottom directly above the snow and at a quite considerable speed. Only one thing spoils the tobogganing fun: that the descent is over far too quickly. Toboggan rental at the hut. Attention: The toboggan run is not lit! Winter parking at the chapel.
