Johanneskapelle in Aigen

The Johanneskapelle in Hohenberg is the oldest preserved church in the Ennstal and is dedicated to the two saints "John the Baptist" and "John the Evangelist". The remarkable winged altar, a work by Lienhard Astl, was created around 1520 and shows depictions from the life of St. John. Also noteworthy are the pointed-arch west portal and the heavy door with fittings from the Gothic period.
