Jocherkapelle

There is an old legend about the origin of the Jocher Chapel, which was built in the middle of the forest. According to oral tradition, a former farmer from the Waldlhof in Breitenbach was on his way home from the Brandenberg high valley, on the so-called "Jocherweg", when a large snake suddenly blocked his path and would not let him pass. In his distress, he began to pray and promised to build a chapel right at this spot in the middle of the forest if he returned home safely. He then put this into action. In 2001, the current owners of the Waldlhof had the chapel lovingly renovated.
