HWW-Station Mönichkirchen/Schranken

This HWW station is part of the Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail Wechselland (HWW). More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at. Each HWW station is dedicated to a chapter from the history of the Wechselland. Topic: Occupation Period 1945-1955 The history of the occupation period is told at this station, because Mönichkirchen was the most important border post between the occupying powers during the occupation period (1945-1955). In memory of this time, a new barrier was erected in 2005. Location of the HWW station: Along the main road next to the building Mönichkirchen No. 176 at the barrier including the barrier house.
