The history of the traditional shooting range dates back to 1901. The shooting club at that time was shut down in 1957, and the shooting range has since been used very rarely, its condition deteriorating. In addition to raising awareness for game and nature, the Hubertusclub Almtal has particularly set itself the goal of preserving tradition and customs. With the reopening of the Manger capsule rifle shooting range, this 120-year-old tradition in Viechtwang will be preserved for future generations.
