The new Holzfaltatelier, built with the support of Hasslacher Norica Timber just outside the city, features innovative lightweight construction and is now also available to sculptors and designers for longer working stays.Program 2026: Johann Wieltsch, A - Wood SculptorThe Carinthian artist Johann Wieltsch from Fürnitz has dedicated himself passionately to wood sculpture for decades. His tireless urge to constantly re-explore figure, form, and material has led to a steadily growing, independent sculptural vocabulary, impressively demonstrated in powerful sculptures and plastic works.To meet the individual requirements of each shape and the intended overall effect of his works, Wieltsch expanded his material spectrum to include stone, glass, and metal. His body and nature figurations sometimes appear archaic and unapproachable, sometimes graceful and of quiet elegance.Detached from mere representationalism, Johann Wieltsch approaches the essence of the visible in his works – inspired by the inherent life of the material and open to its transformations. Thus, we encounter figures that are reduced to the essential yet radiate a deeply felt vitality – a soulful quality that awakens in us the desire to touch and feel them.The exhibition by Johann Wieltsch can be seen from May to October 2026.Further information HEREFree admission!
