In the museum in the Widumspfiste, run by the local history and museum association, the main focus is on documenting the history of the Zillertal singer families and the associated spread of the song "Silent Night" throughout the world. Using pictures, music books, exhibits, and documents, one can trace the journeys of the singers into the world. By Christmas 2018, the song had been heard for 200 years. Today it is sung in 250 languages and dialects! Tools and objects from old crafts such as quill embroiderers, carpenters, locksmiths, monastery works, coopers, wheelwrights, hat makers, or rope makers are on display. We show a "Mozart organ" from Hall i. T. and explain its history. One room is dedicated to the >Tux-Zillertal cattle breed<, which was considered extinct around 1970 and is now successfully bred again by farmers. In 2004, the large exhibition on mining and metallurgy was added in the newly built basement.
