The local history museum attempts to bring the traditional rural and artisanal working and living world closer to visitors by displaying culturally significant objects and tools typical of the region. The exhibited objects (16th to 20th century) include a wide spectrum of rural and artisanal tools from the region, as well as objects from the school and church spheres, and from the mining past and local history. Since 1962, over several decades, various folkloric objects from the region were collected by the founder of the collection, Ms. Gertrud Neurath (2001), and Mr. Eduard Weidl, and housed for decades in the "Maierhof" next to the Stubegg castle ruins. Since 2002, the museum has been located in the multi-purpose building. Here you will also find the entrance room of the show mine including a video room and a snack bar. The combination of the show mine and the local history museum and the local history collection achieves a significant expansion of the cultural offerings in the region.Take the opportunity to travel by public transport.
