Heiliger Brunnen von Adlwang, Gnadenbrünnlein

An ancient legend reports that an exceedingly beautiful maiden, surrounded by a bright glow, frequently appeared at this very spot. This apparition was also the reason for enclosing the spring here and building the church next to it.To this day, the well is a destination for many believers who, through the intercession of the Mother of God, ask for the preservation or improvement of their eyesight by washing their eyes with the radon-containing water.The current chapel of the Holy Well dates from 1893 and features an impressive statue of the "Sorrowful Mother of God" by the Linz sculptor Franz Stark. The interior decoration with black pebbles and Kremsmünster tuff stones is noteworthy.
