...where art and science astonishingly join hands! The world has become quite loud, and quiet tones are all too easily lost! Not so in the House of Astonishment: Manfred Tischitz – initiator and artistic director – has created a unique interactive art experience world with musicians, artists, and scientists: Over 60 technically impressive experimental stations offer experiential access to the world of music, art, and science. Much invites visitors to try things out, make music, and discover. Such as the sound boat, the drip drum, the globally unique sound machine, the Lambdoma, singing frogs, the Pendulum Wave in the Sound.Art.Garden, and much more. In the Sound Chapel (former Gothic church), extraordinary overtone instruments invite visitors to make music together. Particularly impressive are the Water.Sound.Images developed by Alexander Lauterwasser. Opening hours 2026: Tue - Sun 10 AM - 5 PM Monday REST DAY We accompany you through the House of Astonishment: To avoid long waiting times, registration is required! Tours take place on the half and full hour. Individual appointments for groups and schools are possible!
