The Hauptplatz (main square) has existed since the 12th century. Some of the houses from various epochs have survived the fires of 1537, 1745, and 1773. No. 2: (Polsterhaus) with a late Gothic portal and stucco relief "Madonna in tendrils" from around 1700. Trinity column with a Baroque statue of Mary. Fountain with a fountain nymph. In the first half of the 19th century, the heyday of the iron industry, the house fronts were given Biedermeier facades, as seen, for example, on houses No. 3, 8, and 10. The late Classicist-Biedermeier house No. 10 (Walluschnig Haus) is a protected monument. In 2005, it was integrated into the large complex of the new university of applied sciences, along with the Gothic hall of house No. 12 (Flaschberger Haus). The stone portal of the Flaschberger Haus was salvaged by members of the museum association and re-erected in the garden of the Missioni Haus. The town hall served as an orphanage from 1903 to 1911. A statue of Antonius stood where the town coat of arms (small church in the field) is now. The house next door, No. 4 (Konditorei Walten), with stucco reliefs of musical instruments and playing children, formerly bore the inscription "Let the little ones come to me." Behind the town hall, the houses Ossiacher Str. 2/3 commemorate the crafts of carpenters and dyers (No. 2 = tourist office).
