Styrian Panther In his mural "Styrian Panther", Nychos artistically dedicates himself to his homeland and processes the Styrian coat of arms in his characteristic translucent style. In doing so, he not only addresses Styria, but also particularly his hometown of Hartberg, which dates back to Roman times. Working on the provincial coat of arms is a project that the artist had long wanted to realize and has now finally implemented. He skillfully stages the Roman history of Styria around the provincial coat of arms on the Hartberg police station. Biography: Breaking open surfaces, exploring the hidden - layer by layer. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, NYCHOS creates art to pursue a question that has always accompanied him: How deep can one go? NYCHOS is an alter ego created by a child who grew up amidst a "Clash of Cultures": A world where Austrian tradition and its hunting culture meet 1980s pop culture, comics, and television. The visual input from back then still contributes to the output. Using the means of anatomy, NYCHOS explores living species in various contexts and various media. His favorite tool is the spray can, his favorite surface is large. He questions contrasts, unites looseness and precision, strictness and irony, the inner and outer world, the dark and the light, and above all: life and death. In his oeuvre, one embraces the other. Everything becomes one. NYCHOS creates art from the innermost part of his soul. Deeply rooted in graffiti and shaped by the visual influences of his early years, his work includes murals, fine art, illustrations, sculptures, and animations. NYCHOS is the founder of Rabbit Eye Movement, co-founder of THE WEIRD, and is a member of the LORDS crew. His artworks have been exhibited worldwide and his large-format murals give character to cities around the world. NYCHOS lives and works in Vienna, Austria, and Los Angeles, California.
