Haas-Hof - Stadtplatz 34

Most of Wels' arcaded courtyards are unfortunately not accessible. However, one of the most interesting is undoubtedly the Haas-Hof. In the second half of the 16th century, the magnificent, elongated, two-story columned arcaded courtyard was built here. The narrow arcades extend over three sides of the courtyard and are extended like a bay window in the southwest corner. During this time, some Wels merchants maintained lively contacts with Italy and also tried to import a little southern flair. With its summer floral decorations, it is considered one of the most beautiful arcaded courtyards in the city, despite its connection with the requirements of a modern commercial building.A very pretty arcaded courtyard - a successful symbiosis of tradition and modernity - can be visited through the entrance of the shop window passage or from Schmidtgasse.
