Gschirrkapelle

Chapel-John the Baptist On September 11, 2010, the newly built chapel on the Gschirraste was consecrated. Michael Schöser donated the house of God in memory of Prince-Archbishop Johannes Geisler, who grew up in Gschirr, and in thanks for recovery from a serious illness. The chapel is placed under the protection of John the Baptist; the altar area is adorned, among other things, by the monstrance found during renovation work in the attic. The consecration service was celebrated by guest pastor Rolf Merkle, who, as a hut tenant, often spends his free time on the Schwendberg. The brass duo Walter Sauerwein-Adi Rinner and the Hippach church choir framed the atmospheric celebration. Afterwards, the numerous guests were spoiled with culinary delights and were able to enjoy pleasant hours with "Schneidig und Krump" in picture-perfect autumn weather. A heartfelt "Vergelt`s Gott" (thank you) to all helpers and donors for their active support in building the chapel!
