Photo: Alpbachtal TourismusMünster in Tirol, Tyrol
The chapel is dedicated to Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, patroness of the (Catholic) Church and of all (Catholic) Christendom of Poland, Bavaria and Oppeln / Opole. The Virgin Mary is the patroness of priests, midwives, innkeepers, cooks, furriers, cloth makers, potters, boatmen, gingerbread bakers, silk workers and vinegar brewers, and the primary recipient of salvation in thunderstorms and lightning, in all distress and against diseases in general. On the way to the Grünangerl Chapel, a special Stations of the Cross was created. On large granite stones, the local artist, Hartwig Unterberger, expressed the hardships of our time in simple but impressive modern images. Each image also has a suitable verse from the Bible.A special focal point in the chapel is the ceiling painting, which was uncovered and restored during the restoration in 1981/82.
