Grubbründl Kapelle

The new pilgrimage chapel at Grubbründl, built in 1983 according to plans by the Weiz architect Franz Hausleitner, with its striking pyramid-shaped tower and the resulting interior with a freely visible roof construction, incorporated all the still existing old pictures and figures that had been preserved from the long history of this pilgrimage site. Healing effect The beginnings date back to 1758, when the first chapel was built here in the innermost corner of the Grubbachtal. The spring at Grubbründl was said to have a healing effect, and to this day many pilgrimages lead to this place annually. The small chapel from 1748 was rebuilt in a much larger form in 1844, until this building also had to make way for the current structure from 1983. In whatever form the religious monument has been preserved, the places of worship are mostly very old sites, dating back to the late Middle Ages. Originally, it was certainly just the simple wooden cross, which is now almost universally distributed across the landscape and thus became the most important field monument as a primary Christian symbol.
