Name: Largest Lantern in the World Description: Ten years ago, a successful world record attempt took place as part of the 2nd South Styrian Advent Run. Since then, the largest lantern in the world, powered by bioenergy, has stood in Mureck. It was lit with the Peace Light from Rome during this Advent Run and is in operation annually at Christmas time. Meanwhile, the lantern has become a landmark of Mureck. Previously, the lantern was supplied with biodiesel. Now there is a change with the conversion from biodiesel to solar power. It remains the largest lantern of its kind.
