A hike up Griffner Schlossberg rewards everyone with an imposing view far beyond the municipal boundaries of the market town of Griffen. Griffen Castle was a defensive castle in the Middle Ages and was considered an impregnable fortress due to its location. The hiking trail leads you through the "Griffner Schlossberg" nature reserve and is designed as a nature trail with detailed information. Once at the top, the Schlossbergschänke "Schlossberg mit Herz" invites you to stop for refreshments. The Schlossbergschänke offers the perfect setting for a variety of events such as weddings, birthday parties, company celebrations – a unique ambience is created for every occasion. The Bambergersaal, slightly below the tavern, is also a very special location with its hall built into the ruins.
