Graukogelbahn

Bad Gastein, Salzburg

bergtourkletternskiwandern

The Graukogel is known for its particularly beautiful and ancient stone pine (Zirben) stand, with some trees being 250-300 years old. Therefore, a walk of about 45 minutes directly at the mountain station of the Graukogelbahn is recommended. Spend time at idyllic spots, use the individual seating made of Zirbenholz (stone pine wood) for a short break, or try our large outdoor Zirbenbett (stone pine bed)! Zirbenholz also has the effect of lowering the heart rate. This promotes relaxation, as the Zirbe truly touches all the senses. "We are aiming for a completely different positioning with the 'Zirbenzauber' for the Graukogel," says Franz Schafflinger, CEO of the Gasteiner Bergbahnen. "Here, nature is at the center of our offer development." The unique two- to three-hundred-year-old Zirbenbestand (stone pine stand) is located very close to the mountain station, in an idyllic landscape with a breathtaking view over the Gastein Valley. "We want to offer our guests a new natural experience with Zirben that can be felt, smelled, tasted, and drunk," says Schafflinger. To this end, the Zirbenweg (stone pine trail) was developed — a circular trail with starting and ending points at the mountain station of the Graukogelbahn. SalzburgerLand Card: once free ascent and descent, optionally with the Schlossalm, Stubnerkogel, or Graukogelbahn.
