The Glockendorf Tirol is located in the heart of the Pillerseetal. Bell casting has a long tradition in Waidring. Even today, bells are still made by hand in the small community at the foot of the striking Steinplatte. From the creation of the sand mold, the casting itself, to the fine work, visitors first learn in theory and then in practice. The self-cast bell can also be taken home as a souvenir. Calling, Hearing, Celebrating, Casting – these are the different thematic areas of the multimedia exhibition. The traditional craft can be experienced by visitors all year round. They learn how bells served as an alternative smoke signal, what they sound like, what role they played in the World Wars, and what is important in their production. Those who can't get enough can go to the demonstration casting in one of Austria's last three art and bell foundries. Adventure Trail | The Biatron at the parking lot of the Waidring/Steinplatte cable cars houses the bell exhibition and is also the starting point for the Glockenerlebnisweg (Bell Adventure Trail). This leads along various stations to the village center, which marks the end of the approximately one-hour tour.
