Highlights of this exhibition are never-before-seen treasures from the princely collections, such as porcelain from Frankenthal, table silver from the Viennese company Würth, or an Empire pendulum clock with a matching pair of candelabras.Room archaeology and artistic enjoyment go hand in hand in this exhibition by the Esterházy Private Foundation. They document the mastery of artists, the patronage and the pressure to represent of princes, as well as the changeability of aristocratic interiors.The magnificent Haydnsaal with its excellent acoustics is one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world and is one of the absolute highlights of the castle tour. Joseph Haydn's (1732 - 1809) historical roots and the numerous Haydn memorials in Eisenstadt and the surrounding area still bear witness to the composer's close ties to this city and especially to the House of Esterházy.
