The sturgeon, as the largest freshwater fish on Earth, is considered a prehistoric fish. It was – particularly because of the coveted Beluga caviar – long threatened with extinction and is therefore under strict nature protection. For over 25 years, Gottfried Hader has been dedicated to breeding the common sturgeon (Hausen), which can reach a length of up to 6 meters and weigh up to one ton. For all interested parties and nature lovers, Gottfried Hader offers tours of his private sturgeon farm. You will learn everything about this native "giant fish" that can live up to 100 years. Waldhausen im Strudengau is located in a charming, gently rolling hilly landscape. The swimming lake, wheelchair-accessible hiking trails, wellness and cultural offerings make your vacation an unforgettable experience!
