Not even with a lot of imagination can one picture it when hiking in and around Gams: This used to be a huge sandy beach. And by "used to be" we mean many millions of years ago. For this reason, fossils can still be found today; around Gams there are 14 different species. But beautiful stones can also be brought to the GeoWerkstatt and processed further – if you file them, drill a hole in them, and then attach a leather strap, you can easily wear them as jewelry. This is how seemingly ordinary river stones are turned into jewelry. And then they come home with you – a souvenir you'll gladly wear around your neck. Workshop The one-and-a-half to two-hour workshop in the GeoWerkstatt also uncovers a lot of knowledge. Because for many, the best way is simply "learning by doing." There, you can then observe tiny creatures under the microscope that lived in the sea millions of years ago. You can imagine them as mini-dinosaurs. Exciting, isn't it?
