Even you and I! A whole geo-line has developed around this phenomenon. Practically every attraction bears the first name "Geo". On offer we have GeoWerkstatt, GeoPfad, GeoZentrum and GeoRafting. One thing you can safely believe – none of them are dusty in the slightest. It's rather unlikely that you'll encounter a chamois (Gams) here. More likely a small village with friendly inhabitants, a village square with a chapel and a cozy Kirchenwirt. Well. So much for Gams. But now to the "Geo". In the middle of the Natur- und Geopark Steirische Eisenwurzen, you can take a time trip that will knock your socks off, a full 250 million years back. Are you crazy! Not only when visiting the Steinkugelmühle (stone ball mill) do you realize that this topic is anything but dry – you would never have thought that stones, their origin and formation could be so captivating for a whole day. Stone & Co In the Steinkugelmühle at the exit of the Nothklamm gorge, a stone is practically always at work – it is completely shaped into a sphere by water power. This is something quite unique in Styria. Then it continues through the natural beauty of the Nothklamm up to the hidden Kraushöhle cave. Further to the GeoWerkstatt, where you can not only marvel at beautiful stones but also make jewelry. This way you always have a good souvenir of your GeoDay in Gams. We can add one more thing: The geological peculiarities around Gams are so significant that UNESCO promptly declared the Naturpark Steirische Eisenwurzen a UNESCO Global Geopark.
