In 1575, the Rannariedl dominion received the right of "high jurisdiction", meaning the lord of the castle could pronounce the death sentence. Therefore, a "permanent" high court, which could not be devastated at night, was built in Dorf. Today, a gallows column still tells of condemnation and death in those times. A memorial plaque installed in 1978 bears the following inscription: "As a witness to the former power of the lords of Rannariedl, this 'permanent high court', erected in 1575, tells of condemnation and death."
