Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Carinthia

ausstellungmuseumstour

A masterpiece of contemporary fresco art! The Fuchskapelle is a real insider tip. It is located in the south chapel of the city parish church St. Egid. The total work of art of the apocalyptic scene sequence covers an area of 160 m². Over 20 years of creation, Professor Ernst Fuchs has provided the chapel with countless details in fantastic colors. The chapel can be visited during a one-hour guided tour. The Fuchskapelle is probably the most colorful highlight of the city parish church St. Egid. Visions of the prophet John. His goal was to show the Revelation in a strict theological study as it is described in a revelation by the prophet John in the last book of the New Testament. Ernst Fuchs, whose admirers included Salvador Dali, titled the chapel from the beginning as the Apocalypse Chapel due to the basic theme of the paintings. Over time, however, the name Fuchskapelle has become established. The Fuchskapelle can only be visited with a guided tour. Tours are canceled on public holidays!
