Fritz-Fröhlich-Wanderweg

For many residents in Wilhering and Ottensheim, the journeys of Beatrix and Fritz Fröhlich on the "Drahtseilbrücke Ottensheim" (Ottensheim Cable Bridge) between their two studios are a fond memory of the artistic daily life that always connected both sides of the Danube. In this spirit, on the occasion of the artist's 100th birthday in May 2010, two cross-Danube hiking trails were opened. The Fritz Fröhlich Trail leads as a circular route from Wilhering Abbey with the Fröhlich Collection and the artist's Wilhering studio, to Fröhlich's final resting place in the Ottensheim cemetery and back to Wilhering.
