Freilichtanlage Katzensteinermühle

The Katzensteinermühle open-air museum The Katzensteinermühle originally stood in the Küpferner Hammergraben and was the house mill for four farmsteads since 1820, operating until 1955. In 1978, the mill was dismantled and relocated piece by piece. Next to the Katzensteinermühle, an old granary from 1850, the "Troadkasten", was rebuilt. In this Troadkasten, one can trace the history of milling, from the grinding stone from the 6th century BC to the ultra-modern industrial mill of today. As the newest attraction, a so-called frame saw can be admired in the open area at the Katzensteinermühle. The surroundings of the Katzensteinermühle were redesigned in 2005. A fish ladder now enables various species, such as trout, grayling, barbel, huchen, etc., to carry out their natural migrations. The automatic weir ensures better flood protection.
