All about wood At the museum, you embark on a journey through time across four exhibition levels. And you quickly learn: In Gesäuse, a lot revolved around wood. Whether you see how timber was transported by land with hand pulls and sledges, or simply immerse yourself in the lives of lumberjacks, rafters, log drivers, and charcoal burners. A little tidbit of knowledge: "To raft" means to float, and it refers to the transport of wood by water. The Silvanum is definitely an experience with an interactive sledge and raft ride, as well as a replica of a lumberjack's hut. It doesn't even have to rain for it to become a fixed point on a Gesäuse trip. 3D Cinema On the third floor of the Forest Museum, the National Park personally welcomes you to the 3D Nature Cinema. After a lot of information about wood, you'll find a crowning conclusion with the world's first macro 3D film. Special exhibition "Forest:Worlds" The exhibition "Forest:Worlds" impressively dedicates itself to the challenges and changes that the forest faces due to climate change and human use. The museum relies on modern forms of mediation such as Augmented Reality, interactive stations, and digital media to inspire visitors of all ages about the topic.
